Unleash the adventurer within with this remarkable Cryptocoryne from the Western Ghats region of southwestern India. Developed since the 1980s as Cryptocoryne sp. "Shola forest", it proved to be the ultimate aquarium plant. Despite its undiscovered potential in the aquarium hobby, it was recognized as a new variety of Cryptocoryne spiralis, named C. spiralis var. caudigera, in 2013. This submerged plant boasts light green foliage, reaching heights of 20-35 cm. Its soft, flexible, narrow leaves form a dense tuft over time, measuring only 0,5-1 cm wide. Short runners are produced, and the plant is not demanding, showing resilience against the notorious "Crypt melt". Thriving in soft to medium-hard water, moderate lighting and a nutrient-rich substrate are recommended. With a moderate growth rate, it forms a dense tuft of lush leaf rosettes, easily propagated through splitting.
